About Comlongon Castle Comlongon Castle is a truely magnificent 14th Century Medieval Scottish Castle wedding venue and luxurious hotel. Built along the Scottish/English border, just 10 minutes from Gretna, the castle offers a fantastic blend of history and privacy, set in 120 acres of secluded grounds, including ornamental carp ponds, sweeping lawns and woodlands. Ceremonies take place by candlelight in the medieval Great Hall; its stone carved corbels, leaded glass windows and huge open fireplace creating the perfect atmosphere for a truly unique wedding.
The castle is a very special and very romantic place and has a well deserved reputation as Scotlands premier wedding castle. (Comlongon Castle is now fully booked for weekend afternoons in 2008. Availability Friday/Saturday/Sunday is now limited to 11am only) (Comlongon Castle price increases £100 for 2009 weddings) Capacity: 2-86 Reception/Accommodation: The castle can facilitate a reception/accommodation after the ceremony, however this is only on weekdays, subject to availability. There are several hotels within 4 or 5 miles of the castle however, where you could hold a reception/accommodation if the castle is only available for a ceremony. Points to consider: Due to the age of the castle, there is no disabled access to the Great Hall for the ceremony. A webcam is available to view the ceremony downstairs. With the Complete Package, the two nights bridal suite is replaced by one night in the castle itself and includes a 5 course banquet for the bride and groom, or two nights in a nearby hotel, and this is your choice. |
