Once you've booked your date/time, you both fill out seperate marriage notice (M10) forms, which we'll send you, or you can download them here (PDF). These are sent to the Gretna registration office no sooner than 3 months and no later than 15 days, before the ceremony with your birth certificates and, if you’ve been married before, your decree absolute. A marriage schedule is then drawn up, ready for you when you arrive in Gretna.
If you'd like a . .
Civil Ceremony (Registrar) they’ll bring the schedule to the wedding
Religious Ceremony (Minister) you have to collect the schedule at the registration office in person (usually on the morning of the wedding). Afterwards, the completed schedule MUST be returned to the Registry Office within 3 days - or you’ll be doing it all again!

This ceremony is conducted by a registrar. The vows spoken are fairly brief,
with both parties making straight forward declarations.
The vows are straightforward and the ceremony lasts around 15-10 minutes.
Please remember not all the venues are available for this type of service.
The ministers service is a religious ceremony and is more personal than the
registrars ceremony. There are several ministers of different denominations
so we can arrange a suitable minister for your requirements. Some ministers
perform longer ceremonies, like a church service and others can perform a
more informal service and do not wear robes or a dog collar.
Services last around 15-20 minutes.
